    Mugla Archeology Museum – Mugla Museum

    Mugla museum or Mugla Archeology Museum was opened in 1994. After the restoration of an old prison, it was put into service as a museum building. It is of great importance as it is Turkey's first Natural History Museum. The museum has 3 main sections filled with ancient ruins and sculptures. It also houses an art gallery.

    Mugla Museum is open to visitors for 7 days a week between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm. There is no entrance fee in Mugla Museum.

    Karabaglar Plateau

    Karabaglar Plateau is called "Highland" among the local people of Mugla. The Plateau, which stretches along the south of Mugla, is an ideal location to relax and get fresh air. The most important element of the regional culture is coffee houses and the most important one of them is known as Supuroglu.

    Supuroglu coffee house is made of stone as a single storey. There are 6 plane trees in its courtyard. It was first known as the accommodation place of the nomads in the early 1800s. Afterwards, the nomads who settled in the region started to deal with agriculture.

    Yılanlı Mountain

    Yılanlı Mountain is located only 20 km from Mugla city center and is known as the highest peak of Mugla. In Yılanlı Mountain, which is among the favorite destinations of the people living in the region, you can have a unique travel experience in all four seasons of the year.

    The region, which is considered ideal for picnics and nature walks, dazzles with its snow-covered white appearance in the winter months. You can also see how the arrival of spring is celebrated with Mugla Yoruk (Nomad) Turkmen Festivals by organizing a trip to Yılanlı Mountain in May. You can also find many handmade products and taste local delicacies at the festival.

    Masa Mountain

    Mugla is famous for its historical destinations such as old settlements as well as important holiday destinations. One of them undoubtedly draws attention as Masa Mountain. It is also known as Asar Mountain by the local people of Mugla.

    Mugla Kursunlu Mosque

    Mugla Kursunlu Mosque belongs to the Ottoman period. Its construction was started by Şucaeddin Bey from Mentese principality in 1493.It was completed in an average of two years. It is known as Kursunlu because the dome of the mosque is covered with lead plates.

    Mugla Kursunlu Mosque was a madrasah with 30 classrooms when it was first built. However, the madrasa was removed during the renovations.

    Mentese Municipality Culture House

    The history of the building, where the Mentese Municipality Culture House is located, dates back to the 1800s. The building bears traces of both Turkish and Greek architecture. It was expropriated by Mugla Municipality in 1999 and put into service.

    Mugla Culture House was restored in 2003. In addition to the availability of local clothes and goods, cultural events are also organized in Mugla Culture House.

    Mugla Library

    Mugla Library, located in the garden of Mugla Şey Mosque, was built by Mustafa Efendi in 1865. It is known that it was also used as the Provincial Gendarmerie Command and the Police Station from the first years of the Republic until the 1980s.

    There are 4 thousand 426 works belonging to Mustafa Efendi in the Mugla Library.

    Yagcilar Inn

    The construction of Yagcilar Inn dates back to 1493. It is known as Yagcılar Inn because it was a place where oil houses were located in the past. It was restored in 1990 and turned into an important trade center.

    At the same time, you can relax in the shade of the plane tree in the courtyard of Yagcılar Inn and drink tea, coffee or soft drinks.

    Zahire Bazaar

    The Zahire Bazaar has an important place among the cultural heritages of Mugla. In the past, it was known as the place where the stored grains were sold. The Zahire Bazaar was renovated by Mugla Municipality and opened for use.

    The main destinations you can visit and see in the Zahire Bazaar are the Culture House, Kerimoglu House and Atapark. The Zahire Bazaar hosts local products and souvenirs.

    Mugla Seyh Bedrettin Mosque

    Mugla Seyh Bedrettin Mosque belongs to the 16th century Ottoman period. It was built by Seyh Bedrettin in 1565. However, the minaret of the mosque was added at the beginning of the 19th century. After its construction, it has been restored 3 times (1831, 1896, 2007).

    Therefore, the old historical form of the mosque cannot be found today. Only the inscription on the right side of the entrance door has survived to the present day. In addition, the tomb of Seyh Bedrettin is also inside the mosque.

    Uzbeks House

    Uzbeks House is one of the traditional Mugla houses. Also the building has a history of approximately 230 years which known as  Hacı Hamzalar and Ali Rıza Özbek House. In 1987, the Best Preserved House Award was given by the Mugla Chamber of Architects.

    The Uzbeks House was expropriated and restored by the Mugla Municipality and was put into service in 2005.

    Mugla Clock Tower

    Mugla Clock Tower was built in 1895 by the first Mayor of Mugla, Hacı Kadızade Süleyman Efendi and his wife Pembe Ana. The beats made by the bell in the Clock Tower indicate what time it is. The bell, which rings at the beginning of the hour as many as the number of hours, rings once in half an hour.

    The inscription on the Clock Tower contains information about who built the tower and why. The relevant inscription was written by Dede İsmail Hakkı Efendi.

    Hacikadi House

    Hacıkadı House was built between 1875-1880. The first mayor of Mugla, Hacıkadı Süleyman Efendi and his wife Pembe Hatun had this house built for their son Ömer Efendi. The Clock Tower and the state hospital, formerly called Hometown Hospital, were built by the same family. They are also among the important historical values for Mugla.

    Hacıkadı House was repaired by Mugla Governorate in 2004 and put into service in 2005. Many cultural and historical items are exhibited in the relevant place. Restaurant and cafeteria services are also provided.

    Konakaltı Cultural Center

    Konakaltı Cultural Center, which dates back to the 1800s, has the title of being the first hotel of Mugla. Konakaltı Cultural Center, formerly known as Mugla Palas, is also known as Konakaltı Inn. It is now known as Konakaltı İskender Alper Cultural Center.

    Konakaltı Inn consists of two floors. There are animal shelters, warehouses and shops on the lower floor, while on the second floor there are areas where the merchants and workers who come to the region can stay. Konakaltı Cultural Center, which has been restored by Mugla Municipality, hosts various courses and organizations such as weddings.

    Mentese Children's Science Park

    Opened by the Municipality of Mentese, the Mentese Children's Science Park aims for children to learn while having fun with different experimental sets. It is open from 10 am to 7 pm, 5 days a week except Sundays and Mondays. There is no entrance fee for Mentese Children's Science Park.
